What moves your ranking
Google names three factors: relevance, how well your profile matches the search; distance from the person searching; and prominence, how well known you are, from links and reviews. In its own words: "There's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking on Google." Local ranking
A complete profile helps relevance. Review requests help prominence. Nobody can change distance.
Questions
Do I need a street address?
Google needs an address it can find to verify you, and a service-area business then hides it. A home address is fine: Google's own example is a plumber who works from home. P.O. boxes, remote mailboxes and virtual offices are not eligible. Google's guidelines.
Can you get me to the top of Maps?
No one can promise that, and we do not. Google says there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking, and it warns against third parties who claim otherwise. We fill in what it says it uses: complete details, the right categories, photos and reviews.
What access do you need?
Manager access, which you grant from your profile. No password changes hands: each of us signs in with our own Google Account. Managers can edit the profile but cannot add or remove users or delete it.
What if my profile is suspended?
Google handles it through its appeal tool, and the profile has to follow the guidelines first, so we check it and fix what breaks them. Evidence Google lists: a business registration, a business license, tax certificates or utility bills, with a matching name and address. Do not create a second profile while the appeal is open. Google's appeal steps.
Can you add my service areas?
Yes, by city, ZIP code or another type of area, inside Google's limits above. Google says approved edits can take up to 48 hours to show.
